Red Metal Minerals and U. P. Candle Company are located in the Gitche Gumee Landing Gift Shop, Ontonagon, in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. We offer highly-scented candles, unusual rock and mineral candle holders, a wide variety of rock and mineral specimens, jewelry set with semi-precious stones, and a nice selection of gift items.

The Candle Company offers over 40 fragrances of highly-scented candles, votives, and tea lights that fit into our rock and mineral candle holders, soapstone boxes, ceramic crocks, or they can be purchased separately to use in your own candle holders.

Our brightly colored tea lights in our wide variety of scents can be arranged individually or in groups to create visual moods and aromas ranging as far as the imagination will allow. These long-burning highly-scented candles are all made in Michigan at the U.P. Candle Company.

We offer Ceramic Crocks, Soapstone Boxes with Mother of Pearl inlay, and Mineral Candle holders made from polished and rough rocks. All holders are designed to hold our votive or tea light candles and are packaged with the appropriate candle in your choice of scents.

Mineral Candle Holders made from Polished and Rough Rocks.
Our polished Rock Candle Holders have been drilled to fit our scented votive or tea light candles giving a warm friendly glow by accenting the beauty of the natural structure of the stone. You can choose any of our fragrances for your rock candle holder.

Each lid is hand-carved and is unique. Boxes come in 4 shapes: oval, round, heart, or a rectangle.

We offer 3 sizes of each box. Some medium and all large boxes can be used to burn tea lights

Gift Shop

We featured are wall hangings, vases and bowls made from Onyx and Marble, copper items, and local souvenirs including Children’s t-shirts, books, and gifts. Our jewelry items include jewelry set with Petoskey Stone, Agates, Greenstones, and Copper. We also carry a nice selection of Jody Coyote and Silver Fox Jewelry.

Red Metal Minerals, located at the Gitche Gumee Landing Gift Shop, carries a large variety of copper, datolite, local specimens, and minerals from around the world in the gift shop. Included are many unusual gift items such as agate slabs and bookends of all sorts. Spectacular mineral specimens for the serious collector and anyone who enjoys the beauty Mother Nature as well as unusual gi ft items such as Onyx Chess Sets, Amethyst Cathedrals, Agate Slabs, Bookends of many varieties, and a selection of books written on the history and geology of copper mining in the Keweenaw Peninsula.
